Dear Colleague,

It is a pleasure to invite you to the 11th General Assembly of the BACTS that will take place at the Sodehotel- Woluwe, Avenue F. Mounierlaan 5, B-1200 Brussels on Saturday, November 18 2006 at 8.30 - 9.30 hrs (registration starts at 8.00 hrs). The General Assembly will take place immediately prior to the 11th Congress on Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (10.00 – 16.30 hours) organized by our Association.

During this general assembly we will discuss and vote a proposal for the new bylaws of the association. These new bylaws have been drafted by Mr. Hellenbosch to comply with the new Belgian law on VZW/ASBL. At the same time, the proposal to prolong the duration for future presidents to two years has been incorporated.
Please have a look at this proposal and mail any remarks as soon as possible to the president.

This year the Data Base Committee has come to an exceptional result and managed to created reports on the activities of the years 2003 and 2004 with complete data sets.
The aggregated data will be available through the website (www.bacts.org) before the meeting.
The data themselves will be highlighted during the report of the data base committee at 9.30h.
Individualized reports of these data will be distributed to all participating centers after the meeting.

According to the current bylaws of our Association, every ordinary member (excluding junior, senior, corresponding, and honorary members) having paid the annual contribution will have one vote and may carry one procuration. Please give your procuration form to a colleague if you can not attend the business meeting!
