The prospective registry on Acute Type A Aortic Dissection starts the 1st of June 2008 and ends 31th of May 2009.
All patients with an ACUTE type A dissection undergoing surgery should be included.
The follow-up will be one year.
Inclusion Criteria
- ACUTE (less than 1 week)
- TYPE A dissection
- between June 1, 2008 and May 31,2009
- arriving alive in theatre
Exclusion Criteria
- Chronic dissection
- TYPE B
- not operated
In the literature the definition of Acute is generalley 15 to 21 days.
By considering this disease i nthe first 7 days, we can be confident that we will study an homogeneous cohort of patient and that the information about the management in our country of this disease in the 'real ife' will be most interesting.
For each patient a Questionnaire has to be completed. Please send this document, after the first hospital discharge to the datamanager of the database committee (Carine Vandeweyer).
For the one year follow up the patients can be aggregated in one document.
The data will be pooled and treated anonymously with strict confidentiality.
Please note that participation is this project is mandatory as we have to organize projects to improve the quality of care in cardiac surgery (Royal Decree 15 Feb 1999 on the college of cardiac surgery).
