Dear Colleagues,
Dear Database Manager,
Currently the database committee is working on the 2008 report. After approval of the board the report will be available as a pdf-document on the website.
I want to congratulate the 12 centres who have sent their 2009 data by now. Can I kindly but firmly ask to the other centres to submit the 2009 data ASAP. It is our goal to finish the 2009 report by the annual meeting in November.
Type A Aortic Dissection: The one year follow-up period of all patients operated with a Type A Aortic Dissection (between 1 june 2008 – 31 may 2009) has ended (31 may 2010).
Please report the patient status. The following format can be used:
Patient ID / Date of birth / Date of Operation / Date of last follow-up / Status: alive or death
You can use the form http://www.bacts.org/documents/PDF/Database/Type_A_1YearFU.pdf
The details about this project are on the website: http://www.bacts.org/sections/database/Pilot_Projects/Pilot_Projects-articles/article.html
A new Belgian Cardiac Surgery Registry is under construction. This registry will be compatible with the EACTS registry.
CPT code TAVI: Trancatheter Aortic Valve Implantation: we suggest to use the code 33405 + 9952
- 9952 is the code for “reduced services”. We currently use this code for OPCAB, but this code is also valid for transcatheter aortic and mitral valve procedures.
- This code does not allow us to discriminate between transapical procedures and femoral procedures, but we will introduce a code in the new BACTS registry.
On behalf of the database committee I thank you for your cooperation.
Bernard Stockman
Chairman BACTS Database Committee
