BACTS Database Committee
Antwerp, October 18, 2007
Dear BACTS Member,
Dear Data manager,
We are pleased to inform you that the BACTS database committee received data from all the Belgian Cardiac Surgery Centers. We want to thank all the participants for their contribution and especially the centers that took the effort to respond to the error-report.
Today we received the error reports of 20 centers. 8 error reports on 2006 are still missing. During the annual meeting next month we are supposed to give an overview of the 2006 activity. Without the immediate response of the 8 missing centers it is impossible to analyze 2006.
MAY WE URGE ALL CENTRES THAT DID NOT ANSWER THE ERROR REPORT TO DO SO BY OCTOBER 26. This is theabsolute deadline and after this date we will be obliged to discard all entries with “error data” from the registry. As you understand this makes the analysis incomplete and inaccurate.
MAY WE REMIND ALL THE NON RESPONDERS THAT THERE IS AN OBLIGATION BY FEDERAL LAW TO PARTICIPATE.
May we kindly ask to contribute by the first of march 2008, for the 2007 data. This gives us the opportunity to finish the five year report 2003-2007 before the annual meeting in November 2008.
The reports of 2003 and 2004 are available through the BACTS website: http://www.bacts.org/sections/members-only/documents/PDF/Report2003_071106.pdf
http://www.bacts.org/sections/members-only/documents/PDF/Report2003_071106.pdf
The 2005-report will be available on the website immediately after the annual meeting.
Due to the late contribution and response to the error reports, we will not be able to present the 2006 report at the next annual meeting. However, we will try to finish that report by the of this year. It also will be available through the website as a pdf-document.
Thank you for your cooperation,
On behalf of the BACTS database committee,
Dr Bernard Stockman
Dr Yves Van Belleghem
